Teresa McNamara Mattos

Teresa McNamara Mattos is an Associate with our firm.  Ms. Mattos graduated from Chapman University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology.  At Chapman, she spent several semesters on the Dean’s list and was admitted to Psy Chi, the National Honor’s Society for psychology.  Ms. Mattos wrote her senior thesis on the effects of divorce on children.

 Ms. Mattos attended Western State University, College of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree, graduating with honors.  While at Western State, Ms. Mattos earned Witkin’s Awards for Academic Excellence for Family Law, Constitutional  Law, and Bankruptcy.  Ms. Mattos earned a Mediation Certificate, as  well as a medal of excellence from the American Bankruptcy Institute.   She also spent a semester participating in Western’s Legal Clinic, where she worked on adoption, dissolution, and paternity cases.  Ms. Mattos also studied Domestic Violence and Juvenile Law.

While in law school, Ms. Mattos was certified through the California Bar to work with seasoned attorneys.  She received training through the school’s legal clinic.  She also clerked for a year focusing on minor’s counsel cases.

Prior to joining the Law Offices of Andrea L. Mersel, Ms. Mattos practiced law at one of Orange County’s largest Family Law firms.  Ms. Mattos has the knowledge, experience and compassion to successfully guide clients through their complex and emotional legal experience.
